Hello! I'm currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering at the Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ, USA. My academic voyage is enriched with in-depth research in the fields of Resilience Engineering, Optimization, Data Science, and Machine Learning. I'm particularly fascinated by the art of devising heuristic solutions for NP-hard problems that challenge the core of computational complexity.

Serving as a research assistant, I'm privileged to work under the esteemed guidance of Professor Jose Ramirez-Marquez at the School of Systems and Enterprises. My expertise lies in mathematical modeling and convex optimization.

    Dr. Yeganeh Hayeri, Dr. Raif Bucar, and I are excited to announce that our research, titled 'Comparison of Static and Dynamic Traffic Assignment Models in the Evaluation of Disruptive Precipitation Impacts on Surface Transportation - A Behavioral Validation Study', will be presented at the 103rd Transportation Research Board (TRB) Annual Meeting. While here, I have had the privilege to be guided by Dr. Jose Ramirez-Marquez. As I embark on this academic journey, I am delving deeper into the intricacies of systems engineering, enriching my knowledge and honing my research skills further.

    From September 2019 to August 2022, I pursued a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering at Özyegin University. Under the tutelage of Dr. Okan Örsan Özener and with support from Co-Advisor Dr. Ali Ekici, I delved into my research interests and culminated my studies with a thesis titled "Metaheuristic approaches for the maximum blood collection problem". My academic diligence was reflected in my cumulative GPA of 3.53 out of 4. Additionally, in recognition of my academic prowess and potential, Özyegin University granted me a Full Scholarship for my MSc program in 2019 and a Fellowship in 2020.

    My academic journey at the Iran University of Science and Technology was both challenging and rewarding. During my tenure, I had the privilege of working under the esteemed supervision of Prof. Dr. Mir Saman Pishvaee. My academic prowess was nationally recognized when I secured the 38th rank among more than 11,000 participants in the National Graduate Entrance Exam for the MSc program in Industrial Engineering, as evaluated by the Iran National Organization of Educational Testing. This achievement led the Iran University of Science and Technology to award me a Full Scholarship for the MSc program in 2018. However, my academic journey took an unexpected turn when I received a prestigious offer from Özyegin University in Turkey. Recognizing the immense potential of this opportunity, I decided to discontinue my MSc at the Iran University of Science and Technology and pursue further studies in Turkey.

    My academic journey began at the Iran University of Science and Technology, where I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Railway Transportation Engineering between September 2009 and September 2014. Under the mentorship of Dr. Hamid Reza Ahadi, I successfully defended my thesis titled "Energy intensity forecast for freight transportation through road and rail in Iran", achieving a CGPA of 14.21 out of 20, with notable academic performance in the last two years at 3 out of 4.

    Throughout my time at Özyegin University, I wore multiple hats, delving deep into both teaching and research realms. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, I supported several courses:

    IE 101 - Introduction to Industrial Engineering, overseen by Dr. Ihsan Yanikoglu, where I elucidated foundational concepts of industrial engineering.

    IE 201 - Operations Research I, taught by Dr. Mehmet Önal, aiding students in understanding key concepts and methodologies in operations research.

    IE 302 - Productions Systems Analysis, guided by Dr. Zehra Melis Teksan, assisting students in mastering complex analytical methods for effective production management.

    On the research front, I collaborated with various esteemed professors on a series of intriguing projects:

    Dr. Okan Örsan Özener and Dr. Başak Altan led the project on "The Operational Efficiencies improvement of Less-than-truckload Carriers Through Load Exchanges using a game-theoretical approach with ML-driven information sharing.” This initiative sought to optimize carrier operations through a blend of game theory and machine learning.

    With Dr. Ali Ekici, I embarked on a term project titled "Implementing heuristic methods on a set of VRPs and a P-Median problem in python.” This work delved deep into the realm of heuristics and their applications.

    Another project under Dr. Okan Örsan Özener explored the "ML-Based prediction of second-hand car prices using feature engineering for Big Data.” This research aimed at harnessing machine learning to predict the dynamic market of used cars.

    In collaboration with Dr. Dilek Günneç Daniş, I analyzed the robustness of China's railway system through the lens of network science. Titled "Analyzing china railway robustness using network science and NetworkX library in python,” the project utilized cutting-edge tools and methodologies to understand the intricacies of China's vast rail network.
